READ conducts Medical Camps to facilitate access to health checkups for Interstate migrants living in settlements like under-served and unreached areas and as well as in the industries for textile workers in Erode district. The objective of this strategy is to take healthcare to the doorstep of populations, particularly vulnerable and under-served areas. The unit consists of a Doctor, a nurse, a radiologist, a lab technician, a pharmacist, a helper and a driver.
The medical camps provides diagnostic and curative services like a cough, cold, BP and diabetic test, anemic test, illness and fever and even some critical cases also. When we come across in most critical cases like heart problem, uterus, lungs, kidney etc. is referred to taluk and district hospital for further treatments. Along with Medical Camps, the doctors and nurse create awareness on menstrual hygiene, personal hygiene and food habits.
